Greetings Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your help and support in navigating the Covid-19 government guidelines. This email is to inform our school families that on Monday, September 12th, new Covid-19 government regulations from the Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City will be implemented at Morrison Academy Kaohsiung. This email aims to provide an outline of the new Covid-19 government regulations.
Please carefully read the following Covid-19 government regulations below:
Elementary Students:
- Please practice self-health awareness by monitoring temperatures and symptoms at home and not sending children to school if they are experiencing any symptoms of an illness.
- If a student or staff tests positive for Covid-19, he or she must conduct a 7-day quarantine and may return to school on the eighth day, permitting the individual shows no Covid-19 symptoms.
- Students and teachers in the same class with the confirmed case will receive a rapid Covid-19 test kit from the school and will need to conduct the test at home the next day before returning to school.
- Students and staff who test negative and show no symptoms will be permitted to return to school the following day.
- Students and staff who test positive will need to notify the school immediately and conduct a 7-day quarantine.
- Students and staff who interacted with the confirmed case for more than 15 minutes without a mask will be provided with one rapid test kit from the school. He or she must conduct the rapid Covid-19 test at home.
- Students and staff who test negative and show no symptoms will be permitted to return to school the following day.
- Students and staff who test positive will need to notify the school immediately and conduct a 7-day quarantine.
- Students and staff who had Covid-19 within the past three months will be exempted from screening.
Secondary Students (Middle School & High School):
- Please practice self-health awareness by monitoring temperatures and symptoms at home and not sending children to school if they are experiencing any symptoms of an illness.
- If a student or staff tests positive for Covid-19, he or she must conduct a 7-day quarantine and may return to school on the eighth day, permitting the individual shows no Covid-19 symptoms.
- Students and staff who interacted with the confirmed case for more than 15 minutes without a mask will be provided with one rapid test kit from the school. He or she must conduct the rapid Covid-19 test at home.
- Students and staff who test negative and show no symptoms will be permitted to return to school the following day.
- Students and staff who test positive will need to notify the school immediately and conduct a 7-day quarantine.
- Students and staff who interacted with the confirmed case with a mask on throughout the whole period will only have to monitor their health and may continue to attend school, permitting the individual show no Covid-19 symptoms.
- Students and staff who had Covid-19 within the past three months will be exempted from screening.
Elementary Morning Drop-Off Procedure:
Beginning on Monday, September 12th, elementary parents are permitted to wait with their child on campus until the morning bell rings at 7:50 am (NOTE: Thursday late start morning bell rings at 8:40 am).
When on campus:
- Please park your vehicles along Jiacheng Road, as campus parking spaces are dedicated to staff.
- Parents are required to wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing.
- Parents are NOT permitted to enter the school buildings but must wait outside with their child.
- After 7:50 am, parents must exit the campus.
- Any parents needing to use the bathroom should go to the gate guard’s house.
- Parents are also permitted to continue driving into campus and drop off their children. Please do not leave your vehicle. Once the child safely exits the vehicle, please drive forward and exit the campus.
Classroom Instruction:
- Staff and students are required to wear a mask at all times except when eating and drinking.
- Staff and students are permitted to take off masks during PE, recess, and when taking photos.
- Teachers are required to wear a mask during classes.
Lunch Dividers:
- Students are required to use lunch dividers during school meal times.
Athletics:
- Activities requiring cross-school and cross-city travel are permitted among middle and high school students.
- Students are permitted to take off their masks when actively participating in a sport. However, masks must be worn immediately when the student is no longer actively participating.
Music Performance:
- Students and staff are permitted to take off their masks when singing, dancing, or playing any wind and brass instrument but must immediately wear their masks when not practicing/performing.

小學含幼兒園:

- 與確診者(及快篩陽性個案)全程佩戴口罩共同活動之人員,進行自我健康監測,如無症狀可上課。
- 已確診康復者3個月內免篩檢,3個月後回覆原篩檢頻率。
小學含幼兒園早上接送指引:
自111年9月12日起,小學生的家長們可陪同孩子們一起進入校園等待,直到早上 7:50 的鐘聲響起。(注意:星期四的上課鈴將於上午 8:40 響起)
在校園內:
- 由於校園停車位只供本校教職員工使用,故請將您的轎車停放於嘉城路。
- 家長入校園時應全程佩戴口罩,並保持社交距離。
- 家長不得進入學校建築,應在校園外等候。
- 當早上 7:50 的鐘聲響起,請家長離開校園。
- 如有需要使用衛生間,請家長至警衛室使用。
- 家長可開車進入校園接送孩子。請不要離開您的轎車。 一旦孩子安全下車,請向前行駛,並離開校園。
教學活動:
- 教職員工生除用餐、飲水外,應全程佩戴口罩。
- 師生得於體育課、休息、拍照時,暫時脫下口罩。
- 教師授課時許佩戴口罩。
用餐隔板:
- 學生用餐時將持續使用隔板。
體育課程:
- 高、國中經學校、學生及家長共同決議後,得辦理跨縣市活動。
- 體育課應全程佩戴口罩,但從事運動時得不佩戴口罩。師生應隨身攜帶口罩,於課程期間無運動行為或運動結束後,仍需佩戴口罩。
音樂及舞蹈課程:
- 師生進行歌唱、音樂吹奏、合奏、舞蹈類之課程及教學活動,得不戴口罩,但於課程開始前及結束後,仍須佩戴口罩。

The annual Fall Art Competition is back! This year’s theme is “Connections”, which was inspired by our school theme this year: The Morrison Family. The Exhibition will be on Oct. 25, the day of the Parent Teacher Conference, parents are welcome to come and take pictures of your kids’ work! All mediums are welcomed to be used.
