Dear Parents/Guardians:
I want to get your help on an exciting event in the life of our school. Morrison is in the process of administering the Flourishing School Culture Instrument in conjunction with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). This study will help us gain insights on our school culture that can inform our future planning efforts, as well as provide a picture of our school’s unique strengths.
Since the flourishing of our community is important, we are asking you to go to the Flourishing Schools Parent Survey and complete the questions by November 4th. This process should require somewhere between 5-10 minutes for you to complete and we have found that, in general, your first impression is the most accurate, so there’s no need to over-analyze individual questions. Your response is anonymous and will not be tracked to you personally, so please offer your honest insight.
Since this survey is being administered by ACSI in the US, it is currently not available in Chinese. We apologize for any extra time this may cause and ask you to answer the questions to the best of your ability using Google translate or some other translation application if needed. We greatly appreciate and value your participation in this survey and encourage you to provide your perspective.
Students (grades 6–12), faculty, school staff, administration, school board, parents, and alumni will all participate in the web-based assessment for our school. The end product of this process will be a school-level report showing Morrison’s FSCI results benchmarked alongside US averages. It is our hope that this evaluation will provide important information as we can continue to provide a quality education within a caring community.
Please be in prayer for the school as we undergo this process and as we get information that will help all of us better serve Christ and others. Thank you for your (anonymous) participation in making this endeavor a success. Thanks,

Parents:
On October 28th at 2pm, I will host a presentation on two topics of interest: MAK’s Advanced Placement program and Application Testing requirements for university. I will review which AP courses are available, how the AP testing works in May, why MAK limits the number of AP courses and why taking an AP course can help when applying for university. The second half of our time will be discussing testing used in university applications primarily the SAT and English proficiency tests.
Please RSVP by responding to this email matt.newkirk@ma.org.tw if you will be attending.
Thanks
Mr. Newkirk
敬邀您撥冗參加,欲參加者請回复此電子郵件: matt.newkirk@ma.org.tw。
Mr. Newkirk
On Tuesday Oct 18th the 8th and 7th grade boys took I-Shou on for a 2nd time. This was the teams first action after the October break and there was a little bit of rust to shake off as they took the first half to find their rhythm. With the score at 5-3 going into halftime after a few shaky moments in the back the boys came flying out in the second half to score 8 unanswered goals to finish with a scoreline of 13-3. Ian Lin made several key saves in goal, Sean Liem scored his first goal of the season and multiple players finished on 3 or more goals each. It was a great team performance by the boys.
Tuesday marked the first game of the season for the 6th grade boys, and the team did not disappoint. “Since the beginning of the season the team has worked on many skills such as passing, ball control, and communication, and their work paid off today,” said Coach Kidwell after the match. “Athletic director Paul Liao has been a constant voice to build the environment of encouragement in this team, and it’s amazing to see those values coming to life on the field!” Today’s game with I-Shou had a challenging start due to player illness and only one substitute, and I-Shou took the lead with an early goal. Morrison kept their heads up and stayed as a team but the first half ended with the Sharks trailing behind 2-3. Starting the second half the team had a great attitude didn’t focus on mistakes from the first half, but instead how to move forward together in the remaining 20 minutes. Morrison’s confidence paid off with a quick goal and the rest was history. I-Shou had a very skilled team but it was Morrison’s teamwork and passing that made the difference in an amazing come back with the final score of 5-3. “The players showed a real willingness to learn from myself and other teammates, and it was great to see their humility even with such an exciting win” said Coach Kidwell. “Even though it was a friendly game, we gave our best, which was a form of respect to the other team, ourselves, and to God. If we keep this attitude through the ups and downs of the rest of the season, we have a lot to look forward to in the coming month!”
