Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 and the sign-up forms will be made available on Friday, March 18, 2022 sometime between 9:00am to 10:00am. A separate email will be sent to all MAK parents with the link at that time. Please also note that sign-ups will be CLOSED at 8:00am on Thursday, March 24 in order to allow teachers to prepare for the conferences. NO signups will be available after 8:00am on Thursday, March 24.

The school will not provide child supervision during the Parent-Teacher Conference.  Your children should be with you at all times.  Parents are not permitted to drop off children at the library or anywhere on campus unattended. The school encourages students in kindergarten through 12th grade to accompany you to the Parent-Teacher Conference.  

親師座談會

「親師座談會」將於2022年三月25日(五)舉行。面談時間登記表將從三月18日(五)早上九點後十點前開始開放登記。登記表的連結以及時間將會另行電郵給您。也請您留意一下，登記表將會在三月24日(四)早上八點關閉連結、停止登記，以利老師們為座談會做準備。請注意！三月24日(四)早上八點過後將無法再登記！

在此次座談會中，學校將不提供孩童照顧服務。與會期間，您需將您的孩子全程帶在身邊。家長不得在無人看管的情況下將孩子送到學校圖書館，或是校園內的任何地方。我們鼓勵大班到12年級的學生與您一同與會。

Family Day is finally here on Mar 26, 2022, Sat at 1 – 4pm.

The purpose of the Family Day is to provide entertainment for the community, families, and friends to enjoy an afternoon together. Family Day will give the Junior class an opportunity to fundraise for their Service trips.

There are a few ways you can be involved in Family Day as follows: –

Elementary students will be taking home an envelope on Thursday (March 17) to help families purchase their tickets. Parents will indicate and put the money in the envelope and return the envelope to school for the amount of tickets they need for their friends and family. 

Middle and High school students may come to the Front office to purchase tickets from Thursday (March 17) onwards.

Let’s MAKe a Difference – 2021-22 Annual Fund:

The Annual Fund is an exciting time when we can come together as a community to enhance our students’ learning experience and environment.  Indeed, the Annual Fund is an opportunity for our community to generously give and take ownership of the school facilities.  

Our goal for this year’s Annual Fund is to raise 800,000 NT with a 100% participation rate from Monday, March 7th through Friday, May 20th, 2022.  We hope everyone can maximize this opportunity to “MAKe a Difference” for our school.  The Annual Fund will purchase school furniture to furnish the elementary, middle school, and high school common area spaces throughout the campus.

Here are the rooms we hope to furnish with new furniture:

2021-22 年度基金計畫

年度基金計畫是一個激動人心的時刻，是我們可以一同參與在提高我們學生的學習體驗和環境的事工計畫。年度基金實實在在是我們全體可以慷慨地給予和獲得完善學校設施所有權的大好時機。

我們今年的年度基金計劃目標是希望能在三月七日(一)到五月20日(五)期間，募得新台幣八十萬完整。我們期盼每個人都能好好利用這個機會，為我們學校“MAKe a Difference”。將使用年度基金來購買傢俱，為我們的小學、中學和高中的公共區域空間添購傢俱。

Sorry you’re not feeling well and have to go home. We will miss you! Here are some things to remember before you come back to school:

真抱歉，你的身體不舒服，需要回家休息。我們會想你！ 回學校上學前別忘了以下幾件事。

• You must be fever free without taking medicine for 24 hours
• 停止吃退燒藥後，24小時內沒發燒才能回來上課。
• If you vomit and/or have diarrhea, you must not return to school until it has stopped for 24 hours.
• 如果有嘔吐或腹瀉，必需在此症狀停止24小時以後才能回來上課。
• Get lots of rest and drink plenty of water.
• 充分的休息和大量喝水。
• Make arrangements with your teacher for the school work you miss.
• 跟班級老師確認需要完成的課業。

Dear Parents, the 2022-2023 Registration Fee Bills have been sent out on 3/4 via postal mail and electronically to your email, please check your mailbox and let us know if you still HAVE NOT received your child’s Registration Bill by the end of this week. Registration fee is due before March 25th, students will receive a 5000 nt discount on their 2022-2023 Fall tuition bill if the registration fee is paid on time.

From the HS Athletic Director

March 14-18

This past week, the MAK Track & Field team competed in the MAC Community Meet. While this was the first meet experience for a large portion of our athletes, the Sharks had a strong showing with the following top places:

Senior Eric Sato placed first in both the men’s 100m and 200m, while on the ladies side MAK senior Grace Im placed 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, and freshman Karesse Chou placed 4th in the 100m and the 200m. Newcomer John Kwon showed great potential in the longer distance races, while throwers Shane Chin & Paul Kim gained valuable experience in the discus throw. The next meet is the TISSA meet on April 8th & 9th at MAC. 

The Men’s Volleyball teams will play their first competition of the season against TISSA opponent ICA, Friday March 18th. The JV game will start at 3:45 and be followed by the Varsity game.

The MAK library is hosting a book fair during the week of parent teacher conferences from March 23-25. The fair will be held in the library and students will be able to purchase items on the Wednesday and Thursday of that week. It will also be open on Friday for parents. The fair will conclude on Friday at 1:00.
