Olympic Day

Hi MAK Parents,

I wanted to give you some information about this upcoming Olympic Day event happening on our campus this Friday, January 21st. As a school, we value providing a well-rounded education for your students. We strive to use athletics and sports to build character and teamwork as well as encourage a healthy balanced lifestyle. Olympic Day is one venue in which we can take some time to do this.

This is an event that involves many staff and students. The participating athletes are K-8th grade. We have put each student in these grades on a multigrade team. Students will be competing in various track and field events that they have been practicing in their PE classes against other MAK students of their grade and gender. This is meant to be a fun day filled with healthy competition. Parents are encouraged to come and cheer their kids on! It is a full day, so here are a few suggestions of what to have your child bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Athletic clothing
  • Sun Screen
  • Hat (optional)
  • Money for snacks and drinks other than water.

I have included this link with the day’s event schedule.

Covid Precautions: Any spectators planning to attend will need to:

Lunches will be provided for those on the school plan. Lunch and snacks will also be sold on campus. There will be a designated eating area.

The buses will run as a normal school day and attendance will be taken.

Thank you,

Jason Gregg

MS Humanities and PE teacher/MS Athletic Director

HS Sports

This past week our Men’s Varsity and Lady Varsity basketball teams took on a challenging opponent in Chang Jung Christian University from Tainan. The physicality and experience of the Chang Jung teams proved to me too much for our Sharks to overcome. However, both teams competed with a lot of heart and fight. This was a great experience for our athletes to play against a high level of competition.

This Friday the JV Lady Sharks and the Men’s JV Sharks take on YangMing Jr High at MAK, followed by a double header on Saturday when the Lady Sharks and Sharks are both in action at home against the Ishou University Nursing Club team.
