Greetings MAK Parents and Guardians,  

On Tuesday, MAK received new Covid-19 regulations from the Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government.  In following all government guidelines, MAK will begin to align and adjust its school procedures accordingly.  

Currently, MAK has implemented two significant changes.  The first significant change is the 80 people indoor and 300 people outdoor capacity.  With this new government regulation, MAK can now have a large group chapel that is more conducive for worship and prayer.  

The second significant change is the elementary dismissal procedure, as parents and guardians are now permitted to enter the campus only to pick up their children.  Unfortunately, parents and guardians are NOT PERMITTED to hang out, loiter, or enter the school buildings.  Once the child has been picked up, everyone must immediately return to their vehicles.  

Once again, MAK will begin to align and adjust its school procedures accordingly.  Please stay updated with the school changes by reading all communication from your child’s teachers and coaches. 

Despite these changes in government regulations, MAK will continue to ensure a safe and secure learning environment by conducting temperature checks, having all staff and students wear masks, sanitizing hands, and social distancing.  

Finally, I want to thank all of our staff, students, and parents for your continued support and flexibility.  Thank you for your cooperation.  I truly appreciate everyone’s effort in following the government guidelines at MAK.

親愛的家長和監護人，平安：

學校在本週二收到高雄教育局新發佈疫情規定的通知。我們將會在遵守規定的前提下，調整一些規範和程序。

目前，學校將會做出兩個重要的改變。第一個是人數限制調整成室內80人，室外300人。此限制的放寬，將有利學校進行大型的敬拜及聚會。

第二個重大的改變是小學生的放學接送規範，現在家長及監護人們僅可進學校接小孩了。很遺憾的是，家長跟監護人們不能多做停留或進入學校建築物內。一但接到小孩之後，請馬上返回車上。

再次強調，每當接到教育局對於任何防疫規條的指示或是改變，學校就會馬上做出改變以及調整。請持續關注由老師及教練們代學校所發出的任何調整後的規範、規定。

儘管政府的規範有些許改變，學校的老師和學生們還是會繼續量體溫、戴口罩、消毒，和保持社交安全距離，以創造一個安全可靠的學習環境。

NEW Elementary PICK-UP PROCEDURES:
Elementary parents and guardians must follow the new pick-up procedures. 
Please read the instructions carefully:

• No personal vehicles will be allowed on campus.  Please park your cars along the Pick-Up Zone on Jiachen Road.

• Parents and guardians entering campus must wear a mask at all times.  

• At 3:10 pm (M, W, F) / 4:10 pm (T, Th), parents and guardians will be permitted to enter and WALK into the campus.  

• Parents and guardians will walk directly to the courtyard, as this will be the designated meeting point to pick up your child.
  • If a middle school or high school student has a sibling in elementary, they are permitted to pick up their brother or sister from the courtyard and walk to the Pick-Up Zone.
  • Middle school and high school students can meet their parents and guardians at the Pick-Up Zone.

• Parents and guardians are NOT PERMITTED to hang out, loiter, or enter the school buildings.  As soon as you have your child, immediately return to your vehicles.  

• Students picked up after 3:30 pm will report to the office.  If you are late to pick up your child, please drive up to the office curb area and call the office at 07-356-1190.

• This revised elementary dismissal procedure will be used for both non-rainy and rainy days.  

We apologize for these frequent changes; MAK always strives to follow government regulations to provide a safe and secure environment for our elementary students, staff, and parents.

最新小學放學接送規範：
小學生的家長及監護人，懇請您遵守以下新的接送流程。
請詳細閱讀以下的流程：

• 自家車輛勿進入校園。請您將車輛沿著嘉誠路，停靠在接送區。
• 家長及監護人，在進入校園之際，請全程配戴口罩。
• 在週一、三、五，下午 3:10 / 週二、四，下午4:10，家長及監護人可步行進入校園。
• 家長及監護人將直接步行到新的指定接送點，前院，來接您的小孩。

• • 若中學或高中生有小學的手足，他們可以到前院來接走他們的弟弟或妹妹，並且帶他們走到校外接送區。

• • 中學生及高中生可自行至校外接送區。
    
• 家長及監護人請勿在校園內多做停留，也請勿進入學校任何建築物內。當接到小孩後，請立即返回您的車上。
• 在下午3:30之後仍未被接回家的學生，將至辦公室等待。若您會稍遲來接小孩回家，請事先致電告知辦公室07-356-1190，並直接將車輛駛進辦公室前的彎道。
• 此調整過後的放學規範將同時適用於雨天及非雨天。

對於開學以來，防疫規範的頻繁改變，我們深表歉意，但學校一直致力於為我們的小學生、教職員和家長營造一個安全可靠的環境。

Middle School ASA Sports begins this week. Students who choose to participate will have practice and activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15pm. Please see MS Parents and ASA sports for more details.

Students who ride the bus home and choose to not participate in MS ASA Sports will be allowed to go to a monitored study hall in the school library until 4:15pm. The bus will depart at 4:25pm. Students who do not ride the bus and don’t participate in MS ASA Sports will need to plan to leave campus by 3:30pm.  

中學的課後運動練習本週開跑！固定練習時間為每週二、四，下午3:14到4:15，有報名參加的學生，請務必準時開始練習。更多詳情細節，請詳閱中學家長及課後運動練習須知。

不參加學校課後運動練習且搭乘校車的學生，則到圖書館裡自修到4:15，會有老師在旁監督。校車將於4:25發車。非搭乘校車且不參加中學課後運動練習的學生，請家長自行安排於下午3:30前離校返家。
