TOMORROW, Friday, September 13: Online Learning Day (STUDENTS STAY HOME)

Tomorrow, Friday, September 13, all Morrison campuses will be having our second Online Learning Day. On September 13, students will NOT be required to attend school, but they WILL be required to complete coursework through an online platform by 11:59 pm on the day of September 13. Planned Absences / 計畫性請假

Requests to be absent are to be made to the school principal in writing or by telephone one week before the absence occurs. This procedure gives an opportunity to discuss the possible effects of the absence and alternative study arrangements. If requests for planned absences are not given to the school principal ahead of time, the absence will be considered unexcused.  This, of course, does not include illnesses or emergencies but does include church mission trips, family trips, non-school sports activities, and any other planned absence.   

如果是有計劃性的請假，必須在一週前寫電郵或是打電話通知校長。這個程序讓我們有機會去討論請假的影響，以及安排一些學習上的替代方案。如果沒有事先向校長提出請假需求，則缺席將被視為無故缺席。 當然，這不包括病假或是緊急情況，但包括教會宣教行程，家庭旅行，非學校體育活動以及任何其他計劃性的請假。

CHRISTMAS IN ZAMBIA!
We were so excited that Bruce and Mercy from Zambia were with us last week. If you want to register to go to Zambia this Christmas, it is still not too late! Please contact Ms. Chandel (blockc@ma.org.tw) for more information. The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 20th.
Also, for this year’s Christmas project, we are filling a shipping container for Zambia. In the next couple of months, we will be receiving more information about all the items we can put in the container. Please stay tuned!

聖誕節在贊比亞！
在上週，我們非常興奮贊比亞的Bruce和Mercy來到我們當中。如果你想在今年的聖誕節報名去贊比亞，現在還來得及喔！若想進一步了解詳情，請聯繫 Ms. Chandel (blockc@ma.org.tw)。報名截止日是9月20日(五)。
此外，今年的聖誕計畫就是，我們要把一個貨櫃裝滿物資，然後寄到贊比亞！在接下來的幾個月，我們將會陸續收到所需物資的清單。 敬請期待！

The Counseling Center will present on “Components of University Applications” on September 23rd at 2:00 pm in the Garden Conference Room. This presentation will focus on the different aspects of the application and how universities use that information to make decisions on admittance. All high school parents are welcomed to attend.

學校的諮商輔導中心將於9月23日(一)下午2:00在花園會議室介紹“申請大學內容及步驟”。 此次會議將著重在介紹申請入學程序的不同面向以及大學如何使用所得資料來決定是否給予入學許可。 歡迎所有高中生的家長們來參加。

Each year the elementary school meets together for a week to learn how to make MAK a safe and caring community.  This year, our theme of Community week is “People in Our Community”.  During each day this week, the Elementary school learned about the different members of the community at MAK and how they specifically help keep them safe. 

Monday: School Nurse

Tuesday: Teachers/Counselor

Wednesday: Cleaning Staff/ Gate Guard/ Maintenance

Thursday: The Students!  They learned about how they can be an UPSTANDER

Friday (Online Learning Day): Parents

每年小學部都會有為期一週(社區生活週)的朝會聚集。在此週我們學習如何讓MAK成為一個安全和關懷彼此的社區。 今年社區生活週的主題是“在我們社區中的人”。 這週內，小學部每天都認識了MAK社區中的不同成員以及他們每個人協助保護我們學生安全的特有專長。

We will have representatives from the following universities visit MAK in the next few weeks. High school students are encouraged to meet with them for more information or to ask any questions.
