This is to update the MAK community that in compliance with all government Covid-19 regulations, both students and teachers will now be permitted to take masks off during all outdoor physical education (P.E.) classes.  However, students and teachers must wear masks during all indoor P.E. classes.  
This new guideline from the Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government will go into effect immediately for all elementary, middle school, and high school P.E. classes. 

謹此通知您，根據政府所有最新的防疫規定，學生及老師在戶外的體育課程時，可不佩戴口罩。請注意，學生及老師在室內的體育課以及下課時間，仍需全程佩戴口罩。

此項由高雄市政府教育局所更新的規範，將即刻適用於所有小學、中學及高中的體育課程。

Changes to your child’s additional fees

Dear Parents,

Please let us know If your child would like to add or drop their current additional services (official school lunch, milk, private music lessons) for next semester. Their current additional services will be applied to the 2nd-semester tuition bill by default if we do not receive any change requests. Please email changco@ma.org.tw before the end of October. Thank you!

Upcoming Games

This Saturday our JV & Varsity Girls volleyball teams, as well as our Boys Varsity Soccer team will travel to MAC to take on the MAT Broncos. See the game times below. 

Parents/Visitors are allowed to attend but must register via the Visitor Registration Form prior to entering the MAC campus.

MAK Fall Sports Invitational Recap

This past week we kicked off our first official sport competitions for our JV & Varsity Girls Volleyball teams as well as our Boys Varsity Soccer team in the MAK Fall Sports Invitational. 

Key highlights of the weekend included:

• Friday evening the MAK JV & Varsity Girls Volleyball teams took on the Mustangs of MAC.  The MAK JV team took the first set but dropped the next two sets in close fashion to MAC. [MAK 1 – MAC 2].  The JV match was followed by an exciting match between MAK varsity and the MAC varsity. With MAC taking the win 3 sets 0. 
• On Saturday the JV & Varsity Girls Volleyball teams built on their momentum from Friday and delivered commanding performances over KAS. [JV MAK 2- KAS 0] [Varsity MAK 3 – KAS 0]
• Also on Friday our Boys Varsity soccer team faced an experienced and tough MAC team, to open up their season. The Sharks fought hard but fell to MAC 7-1. With a game under their belt, on Saturday afternoon the Sharks looked more settled and game ready, but lost a close and exciting game to KAS. [MAK 2 – KAS 3]

Elementary School is celebrating Book Character Day on Friday, October 29. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite book character costume (participation is optional). We look forward to seeing your creative costumes!

Message from the Junior Class

USED AND NEW BOOK DRIVE!!  

This year, our Junior class will be utilizing our God given skills to set up a library for children in a small village in Pingtung County as a part of our Impact Program trip to serve others. By donating any used or new books to the community, it will represent a great act of service to help these villages by providing various genres of books that are suitable for ages 6-15. We hope to receive both English and Chinese books, but mainly Chinese books. There will be a box in the library and in the office between now and November 12 into which you can deposit books. 書籍募捐

今年，我們的十一年級的學生將在他們的修業旅行期間到屏東縣恆春鎮附近的一個小村落打造一間兒童圖書館。為了豐富這間圖書館的館藏，我們接受舊書或新書的捐贈。我們希望募得書況良好，適合大約6-15歲的小學和中學生閱讀的中英文書籍。從現在到11月12日，我們將會在圖書館擺放一個箱子，您可以將欲捐贈的書籍放置其中。非常感謝您的慷慨捐書！如果對此活動有任何疑問，請聯繫Mr. Wade West (westw@ma.org.tw)。
