This past weekend our Girls Varsity Volleyball and Boys Varsity Soccer teams competed in their season ending TISSA tournaments.
The Varsity Girls Volleyball traveled to Morrison Academy Taipei in pursuit of a championship. Thanks to their hard work the previous year they were able to secure a high seed in the tournament. On Saturday morning, they had convincing wins over ICA and the tournament host team MAT. These wins set up a rematch of the final from last year against MAC. The girls played an excellent final and with much determination and strength were able to beat the Mustangs 3 – 0. The coaches were so proud of the girls and were so thankful to all the support the MAK community showed them this season and at the tournament. We are so blessed to be able to experience this moment and to enjoy the sport of volleyball.
The Varsity Boys Soccer traveled to Morrison Academy Taichung and took on familiar opposition in round one of their tournament in the form of KAS and, despite missing key players through injury, there was confidence that the boys could get the result they needed. After controlling large portions of the game a free kick goal was conceded in the first half. However the varsity boys battled back and despite going on to lose the game 2-1 should be proud of their efforts against the eventual tournament champions. In the afternoon the varsity boys took on ICA for 5th place in the tournament. After a scrappy game riddled with errors due to tired legs, the varsity boys came away as 1-0 winners compliments of a James Andrews goal in the second half sealing a 5th place finish overall.
The Winter Season of MAK High School sports kicked off this week with boys and girls basketball, and cross country officially starting practices.

Message from the Junior Class
[LAST CHANCE!] USED AND NEW BOOK DRIVE!
This year, our Junior class will be utilizing our God given skills to set up a library for children in a small village in Pingtung County as a part of our Impact Program trip to serve others. By donating any used or new books to the community, it will represent a great act of service to help these villages by providing various genres of books that are suitable for ages 6-15. We hope to receive both English and Chinese books, but mainly Chinese books. There will be a box in the library and in the office between now and November 12 into which you can deposit books. Thank you so much for your generosity! If you have any questions about this please contact Wade West westw@ma.org.tw.
Wade West (westw@ma.org.tw)。
Congrats to our MAK Robotics team! They won first place at a tournament in Yun Lin on October 31. We took four teams to compete and one of them won the entire event! Pretty awesome! Here are some pics:
