Dear Parents and Guardians,

Morrison Academy Kaohsiung (MAK) has been notified by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) regarding the availability of the Pfizer-BioNT Covid-19 vaccination/booster for children ages 5 to 17 years old.  In recognizing the distribution of the vaccine/booster as a family-school community service, MAK will assist the CECC.  Children ages 5 – 17 will be eligible to receive the vaccine/booster on Friday, May 27th, 2022, from 1:30 pm – 3:15 pm in the MPR.

Elementary Students Only:

***In order for elementary students (K-5 students) to receive the Pfizer-BioNT Covid-19 vaccine at MAK, one parent or guardian must be present at school.  This requirement ensures that elementary students feel safe and secure when receiving the vaccine.  By having one parent or guardian present, the goal is to reduce any fears and make the child feel comfortable.  Please use the next 10-days to make the necessary adjustments to your working schedule.  Thank you for your cooperation.  After your child has received the vaccine, parents or guardians are to sign out their child and go home.***   

When elementary parents or guardians arrive at MAK, please social distance by staying with your child only and adhering to all Covid-19 government regulations:

1. Wear a mask at all times
2. Sanitize your hands
3. Conduct a temperature check
4. Complete a health declaration form
5. Parents and guardians must stay in the MPR only (Not permitted in the school’s hallways or classrooms) 

Middle School & High School Students:

Middle school and high school students may receive the Pfizer-BioNT Covid-19 vaccine/booster at MAK independently without a parent or guardian present at school.  After your child gets the vaccine/booster, they may return to their class.  

*Children ages 12 (May 27, 2010) and above may receive their second jab after 12 weeks of receiving their first Covid-19 vaccine.

**Children ages 12 (May 27, 2010) and above may receive a booster (Pfizer-BioNTech) at least 5-months after completing their second Covid-19 vaccine jab.   

For students to receive the Pfizer-BioNT Covid-19 vaccine/booster, all parents and guardians MUST complete and return a hard copy of the consent form to MAK by Tuesday, May 24th.  Even if you choose NOT to have your child receive the vaccine, please complete and return the consent form, as the school can provide each family a referral form to take to their local health clinic.  Please have your child return the hard copy or email the consent form directly to the office or to their classroom teacher to ensure privacy and confidentiality.

輝瑞BNT學生(5-17歲)疫苗/加強劑

親愛的家長及監護人，平安：

高雄馬禮遜美國學校獲悉中央流行疫情指揮中心針對5歲到17歲學生施打輝瑞BNT疫苗/追加劑(第三劑)所頒布的相關公告。學校視協助疫苗接種事宜為一項服務家庭及學校全體的要事，因此學校將會協助指揮中心以及教育部的指令來進行疫苗接種事宜，預計於2022年5月27日(五)下午1:30到3:15在學校MPR進行。

小學部的學生：

***為了讓輝瑞BNT疫苗接種事宜順利進行，一位家長或監護人必須到校陪伴。此要求的目的在於確保學童在接種疫苗時可以覺得安全以及安心。讓一位家長來陪同，主要是為了減少任何因接種疫苗可能產生的恐懼及害怕，並且讓學童能夠有安全感。請利用接下來的兩週思考並且在您的工作行程上做安排以及調度。感謝您的配合。當小孩完成疫苗接種，家長將小孩帶回家休息。 ***  

當小學部的家長們抵達校園時，請保持社交安全距離，只和自己的小孩互動，並遵循以下政府防疫規範：

1. 全程配戴口罩
2. 進行手部消毒
3. 測量體溫
4. 填寫健康聲明書
5. 家長及監護人必須待在MPR(請勿待在學校的走廊或是教室)

中學部及高中部的學生：

預計在學校進行輝瑞BNT疫苗或是追加劑接種的中學及高中生，毋需家長或監護人到校陪同進行接種。在接種疫苗後，學生可回到教室休息。

*12歲以上的學生(2010年5月27日以前出生)，若完成新冠疫苗第一劑接種已達12周以上，可在此次進行第二劑接種。

**12歲以上的學生(2010年5月27日以前出生)，若完整接種兩劑新冠疫苗已達五個月以上，可於此次進行追加劑接種。

無論您是否同意讓您的孩子接種輝瑞BNT疫苗，請所有家長及監護人務必皆完整填寫紙本意願書並於5月24日(二)前繳回學校。即便不同意讓您的孩子接種，也務必繳回意願書，如此一來，學校則可填寫轉介單，讓您就近帶孩子去衛生所或診所接種。為確保隱私權，請您讓您的孩子將同意書直接交給學校辦公室或是班導。

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

This email is to inform you that MAK will proceed with the Middle School and High School Spring Concert.  However, parents and guardians will not be permitted to attend this event out of an abundance of caution.  Students and staff in attendance for this event will wear their masks at all times and will be socially distanced when seated in the MPR.  Performers such as those in the choir and orchestra will also wear their masks at all times.  The students in the band will be socially distanced and will take off their masks when they perform only.  Please know that the concert will be recorded, and your child’s respective music teacher will send you a link to view the concert at a later time. 

As a result of the concert today, Thursday, May 19th, the school buses will leave at 4:25 pm. An after-school program will be available for elementary bus students ONLY for today.  Families with Non-bus students will need to pick up their child at 3:15 pm.  

After the Middle School and High School Spring Concert, the school buses will revert to leaving at 3:25 pm, Monday through Friday.   Please plan and adjust your schedule accordingly.
