Quarter 4 Report Cards

Quarter 4 Report cards can be accessed electronically in Powerschool starting Monday, June 5.  Please follow the steps below to view the report cards. 

• Log into PowerSchool.  You must log into PowerSchool through a web browser, either on your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.  You will NOT find the Report cards in the PowerSchool App.
• On the left-hand side of your screen, you should see an icon labeled Report Card. If you don’t see the icon, look for a small gray arrow near the top left of your screen.  Click on this arrow to reveal many options, including the Report Card icon.
• Click on the Report Card icon, if the report is ready, it will appear.  
• If you can not remember your login or password, follow the instructions on the login page to retrieve the information.

Elementary School Parents: There are two documents that give you information about your child’s progress at school.  Mastery Connect reports on how your child is meeting the standards in academic courses.  You should receive an email to access your child’s Mastery Connect report.  Power School reports on social and study skills.  When teachers write comments at the end of each semester, those comments will appear in PowerSchool.

Please contact the office at makoffice@ma.org.tw if you would like to request a printed copy of the report card.  

在6月5日(一)就可從PowerSchool上查閱第四學季電子版的成績單了。請按照以下步驟來查閱成績單。

• 登錄到PowerSchool。您必須用手機、平板、筆電或桌上型電腦登錄到PowerSchool的瀏覽頁面。您將無法從PowerSchool的手機應用程式中找到成績單。
• 在您螢幕的左方，您應該可以看到一個顯示“成績單”的圖案及標示。如果您看不到該圖標，請在螢幕左上方附近找到一個灰色的小箭頭。 點擊此箭頭來顯示更多選項，包括“成績單”的圖標。
• 點選[Report Card]的圖標，如果成績單已經備妥，您就可以看到成績單了。
• 如果您忘記登錄帳號或密碼，請按照登錄頁面上的方式來復取資料。

小學部的家長們：小孩在學校的表現將會以兩種形式來呈現。Mastery Connect會告訴您，您的小孩是否達到學科上應該要達到的標準。您應該會收到一份電郵告訴您怎麼打開這份紀錄。PowerSchool則會告訴您，您的小孩在社交和學習技巧方面表現如何。老師們在學期末都會寫評語，而這些評語都能在PowerSchool上找到。

Dear Parents and Guardians, 

This is a reminder that Friday is a Half Day for Teachers’ PL.  The school will be dismissed at 11:30 AM, and the school buses will leave at 11:45 AM.  There will be no lunch during this half day.  This is a system-wide Professional Learning day for all teachers to meet, receive training, and learn from each other. 

再次提醒大家，週五學生只有上半天課，下午是老師的專業教育培訓。 星期五我們上午11:30放學，校車11:45準時出發。 由於上課只有半天，學校當天不提供午餐。 設立教師專業教育培訓日，讓教師們相互發展、相互觀摩、相互學習。

We are having our end-of-year Middle School Awards Ceremony & 8th Grade Graduation TODAY.  During this event, we will recognize the middle school students who have both excelled in their academics and those who have demonstrated outstanding character.  We will also honor the 8th-grade students who are graduating from middle school and moving on to high school.  All parents are invited to join us for this celebration.  This will be held in the MPR from 1:00 – 2:30.  At the conclusion of the ceremony, there will be some time for you to take photos with your child.  The 8th-grade students and parents are invited to a tea ceremony from 2:45 – 3:15 in the Shark Cafe.

Summer Library Hours

It’s hard to believe that another school year is almost over! We thank God for all the fun memories made and important lessons learned in Chapel this year. Private Music Lessons Registration for the 2023-2024 school year begins now! 

Private lessons at MAK are available to all students (both elementary and secondary).  Lessons are scheduled once a week for 30 minutes and will begin a week after the start of the semester. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to receive one-on-one music instruction during school hours. Students enrolled in music lessons are encouraged to perform at school concerts and activities. 

1. Lesson Scheduling:

Regarding scheduling, private lessons are usually scheduled during recess, PE, Mandarin, library, and quiet reading time. You may indicate in the sign-up form if you have a preferred lesson time; classroom teachers and music teachers will find a time that’s most appropriate to schedule each student’s music lesson. However, all private lesson schedules are not finalized until the principal’s approval. Please note that private lessons are not available during ASA hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students are welcome to join the strings orchestra or band during ASA hours.

2. Choices of instruments: 

1. Piano
2. String instruments (violin, viola, cello)
3. Loog Guitar, Ukulele, and Guitar (for upper ES and above) 
4. Recorder, Shining Piper (plastic mini flute), and Nuvo instruments
5. Band instruments (flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone, trombone, baritone, and tuba) *Students younger than 3rd grade are not advised to start on regular band instruments because of physical size. Please sign up to learn the recorder, Shining Piper or Nuvo instruments instead.

3. Absences

Please notify your music teacher a week in advance if your child will be absent. However, only absences due to test-taking, illness, or family emergencies will be made-up. Lessons missed due to personal reasons will not be made-up or refunded.

4. Lesson Fee

We guarantee up to 15 lessons per semester at the cost of  7,895 NT per semester. The fee is not refundable if students choose to withdraw from private lessons after the first lesson has been scheduled. Please do not send money with your child to school. You will receive a bill shortly after the private lesson scheduling is finalized. 

5. Instrument Rental Fee:

The fee for instrument rental is 1,200 NT per semester. 

The following instruments are not available for rental and students will be required to purchase their own: Loog guitar, guitar, recorder, ukulele, and Nuvo instruments.

馬禮遜音樂個別課課程介紹

音樂個別課程歡迎小學、中學、高中學生報名參加。個別課上課時間為每週一堂（30分鐘），一學期共15堂課，於開學後的第二週開始上課。學生將於在校時間接受一對一的樂器教學並鼓勵學生參加校內的音樂會和演出。

1. 個別課時間的安排：

個別課通常會安排在下課、體育、中文、圖書館和班級閱讀時間，您可在報名表下方的備註欄寫下您希望的上課時間，班級導師將與音樂老師一同安排最理想的上課時間，最後再由校長審核。（備註：個別課無法安排在星期二和星期四的ASA課後活動時間 ; 學生歡迎於ASA時間參加學校管樂團或弦樂團）

2. 學校提供以下樂器教學:
   1. 鋼琴
   2. 弦樂 : 小提琴、中提琴、大提琴
   3. Loog 兒童吉他、吉他（高年級以上學生）烏克麗麗、或 Nuvo 樂器
   4. 管樂器: 長笛, 單簧管, 薩克斯風, 小號, 長號

*低年級學生因身高和體能有限，不宜選修管樂器，若對管樂器有興趣建議先學習直笛、響笛（迷你膠管長笛）或是Nuvo 樂器

3. 學生因生病、緊急狀況或課堂考試請假, 音樂老師將會再安排時間補課。若學生因個人因素請假將不予補課或退費；請假請於一週前聯絡老師。

4. 每學期上課的費用 (共15堂課) 為7,895元。

若學生在學期中決定停止上課將不予退費。

學校辦公室將會在開學後寄送帳單給您，請不要讓孩子帶學費來學校以免遺失。

5. 學校租借樂器的費用為每學期1,200元 ; Loog 吉他、吉他、烏克麗麗、直笛、響笛以及 Nuvo 樂器 則無法租借，請自行準備。
