Giving Fund

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Merry Christmas!  As I reflect on this past semester, “God with us – Immanuel” has been on my mind and heart.  Covid-19 has brought a lot of unknowns, but despite not knowing what the future holds, one thing remains the same – God is with us, always.  As we approach Christmas, I want to encourage everyone that God is always with you.  Regardless of how we feel or what kind of situation we are in, God is always there to comfort, strengthen, encourage, and help us.  Understanding that God is with us is the true meaning of Christmas.  Throughout this Christmas season, may you experience God’s loving companionship.

This year, MAK is focusing our Giving Project on Heng Chun Christian Hospital.  Heng Chun Christian Hospital is a faith-based Christian organization that provides social work and medical services among the elderly and school-age children of the Heng Chun community.  MAK’s 11th graders have partnered with Heng Chun Christian Hospital for its Impact Trips for the past two years.  This year, our 11th graders remodeled the community’s library, cleaned homes, worked alongside social workers, and ministered to the school-age children.  Please join MAK to help Heng Chun Christian Hospital raise funds to purchase one kidney dialysis machine.  You can give directly to Heng Chun Christian Hospital through this designated link.  We hope to raise 320,000 NT by Chinese New Year.  Please view their website and Facebook page for more information.

Dorming at MAC Information Session

MAC Boarding Supervisor Dee Falk will host an information session for any student/family that is interested in learning more about Morrison’s excellent boarding program at MAC.  All students planning on applying to board for next school year, must attend this meeting with at least one parent.

January 13, 2022 at 10am in the Garden Conference Room.

MS/HS

On January 20th, we are excited to welcome guest speakers, Ben Pai (白吉勝), also known as 阿Ben, and his wife Anita Hsu (徐小可), to speak at MAK! They will be leading worship and sharing their testimony to Grades 4-12 students from 1:10 – 1:50 pm. This will be followed by a special event for parents from 2:00 – 2:45 pm. Parents are invited to participate in both events. Please fill out this form if you are interested in attending. To find out more about our guest speakers, please read their bio below. If you have questions, please contact Krystine Tan (tankr@ma.org.tw) or Melonie Tam (tamm1@ma.org.tw). We hope you can join us!

Ben Pai (白吉勝), also known as 阿Ben, is a Taiwanese singer/actor. Growing up, Ben
wasn’t sure what his passions were, and he felt an emptiness in his heart because he felt he didn’t
have any motivation or interests. When he moved to the United States at the age of 15, he
enrolled in singing competitions and found his love for music. Ben knew he wanted to pursue
being an artist and entertaining. Eventually his dreams turned into a reality, and he was recruited
into a band, known as B.A.D. His band became widely popular in Taiwan, and they received the
Golden Melody Awards for best singing group. With hard work, he was able to achieve his goals.
Anita Hsu (徐小可), is a Taiwanese actress, model, and entertainer. Growing up, Anita
wanted to be a teacher. Her mother grew ill when she was at a young age, so she wanted to be a
tour guide and have the ability to take her mom to travel and explore other countries. She signed
up to be in a travel show, and her career started from there.
Both Ben and Anita’s careers became different from what they originally planned and
thought of it to become, just like how they didn’t know they’d be introduced to the Church and
learn about Christianity. Eventually, they both got baptized in 2019, and they continue to worship
and spread the word of God.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised
up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.”
-Romans 6:4

ES

As we head into the New Year, I want to take the opportunity to thank parents and families for all your support and the crucial role you play in the spiritual and emotional development of your child. We have so much to celebrate and thank God for as we look back on the past year!
During Hands and Feet Day, our Elementary students did an amazing job collecting donations and thoughtfully prepared gifts for the homeless community at CoLife. Please watch our Hands & Feet Day video slideshow to see our students in action!
To end off the year, many students performed during our Christmas Chapel where we celebrated and reflected on the birth of the Saviour. Watch the video to see the beautiful music performance by the worship team and the touching skit by ASA Drama Team.
Both these events were made possible by the generous donations of our parents and the hard and sacrificial work of our students. Together, we make such an amazing team! Thank you for your support and participation! I hope you enjoy the videos.
May the Lord lead, bless, and use your family for His glory this New Year!

I wanted to give you some information about this upcoming Olympic Day event happening on our campus this Friday, January 21st. As a school, we value providing a well-rounded education for your students. We strive to use athletics and sports to build character and teamwork as well as encourage a healthy balanced lifestyle. Olympic Day is one venue in which we can take some time to do this.

This is an event that involves many staff and students. The participating athletes are K-8th grade. We have put each student in these grades on a multigrade team. Students will be competing in various track and field events that they have been practicing in their PE classes against other MAK students of their grade and gender. This is meant to be a fun day filled with healthy competition. Parents are encouraged to come and cheer their kids on!
