Hello Parents,

I wanted to give you some information about this upcoming Olympic Day event happening on our campus on Friday, February 10th. As a school, we value providing a well-rounded education for your students. We strive to use athletics and sports to build character and teamwork as well as encourage a healthy balanced lifestyle. Olympic Day is one venue in which we can take some time to do this. This event is open to Morrison family and friends. Parents are encouraged to come cheer for their kids!

Students will have their Team meeting on Tuesday, Jan 31st after school from 3:20pm – 4:20pm to sign up for their events. (Elementary: If your child does not have ASA, their team leader will sign them up for events. But I would recommend all the students to be at the team meeting.)

This is an event that involves many staff and students. The participating athletes are K-8th grade, and each student is assigned to a multigrade team (Country). Students will be competing in various track and field events they have been practicing in their PE classes against other MAK students of their grade and gender. This is meant to be a fun day filled with healthy competition.

It is a full day, so here are a few suggestions of what to have your child bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Athletic clothing (Shoes, shorts, shirts)
  • Sun Screen
  • Hat (optional)
  • Money for snacks and drinks other than water.

Parents/Spectators planning to attend:

  • Cannot show or experience any symptoms of an illness.
  • Please park outside of campus on Jiacheng Road.
  • Will receive a visitor’s sticker at the front gate before entering campus.
  • Will stay on the Athletic Fields and MPR, but not EMS or HS hallways (HS Classes will still be in session)

Lunches will be provided for those on the school plan. Lunch and snacks will also be sold on campus by Highschoolers. Please keep food in the MPR and Outdoor Courtyard.

Attendance will be taken as usual in the morning.  The school will end as normal at 3:15 with buses departing at 3:25pm.  If your child normally takes the bus home and you plan on driving your child home instead, please inform the front office.

Here is the Schedule for Olympic Day

Blessings,

Paul Liao /

Dear Parents:

As university applications become more and more competitive, a student’s activities have increased in importance.  Come join this session as I teach on what makes a strong activity, how can parents support their students activities, how activities are structured at MAK.  Summers are also important in a high school student’s career and with travel resuming students have a variety of opportunities available to them.   I will present on different options for summers and how to use summers to benefit your students’ growth and applications.

The session will be on Feb 2 at 2pm-3pm in the Band room.  Please RSVP by emailing matt.newkirk@ma.org.tw
