Giving Project

Dear Parents and Guardians,

MAK’s Giving Project is focusing on Heng Chun Christian Hospital.  Heng Chun Christian Hospital is a faith-based Christian organization that provides social work and medical services among the elderly and school-age children of the Heng Chun community.  MAK’s 11th graders have partnered with Heng Chun Christian Hospital for its Impact Trips for the past two years.  This year, our 11th graders remodeled the community’s library, cleaned homes, worked alongside social workers, and ministered to the school-age children.  Please join MAK to help Heng Chun Christian Hospital raise funds to purchase one kidney dialysis machine.  You can give directly to Heng Chun Christian Hospital through this designated link.  We hope to raise 320,000 NT!  Please view their website and Facebook page for more information.

Hi Parents and Students,

Unfortunately, due to government restrictions, we are unable to have after-school sports activities this month. However, this does not mean that you have to be inactive or stare at a screen for hours. Parents I would encourage you to provide a way and encourage your children to be active after school. Ride a bike, go for walks, jogs, do some skating, fly a kite, go out and practice your favorite sports. Parents you can join them:) Hopefully, we will be able to restart after school activities soon, in the meantime create some new healthy habits 🙂

Life Day is Coming TOMORROW!

Our annual Life Day for MS & HS students is scheduled to be on February 11th! This is a special day set aside for students and staff to focus on the abundant LIFE that God has to offer us. This year, our theme is: “The Great Feast.” We will be learning and experiencing various aspects of the abundant goodness and life that God has invited us to partake in. We are excited to have guest speakers: Dyzee Alba and our very own Lena Lee (past MAK mom) & Joyce Lee (current MAK Administrative Assistant). We look forward to a wonderful day of learning and growing together!

Do you love reading? We certainly do in the library! The MAK Library is selling a fun t-shirt (designed by MAK senior Emily Griffin) to promote literacy! If you would like to order a shirt, please send your child to pick up an envelope (pictured above) in the library and turn it into either Mrs. Stowers, Mrs. Gregg, or Chang Tai Tai. Thank you!

Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,

Good news! We are going to change the deadline (and price) for the Talent Show tickets to Monday March 7th. There will no longer be early bird and regular tickets because of the unpredictable nature of Covid. 
Although we haven’t gotten any notices about cancelling activities for March yet, we want to minimize the inconvenience of reimbursing tickets for those who have already paid (in case the Talent Show gets canceled). 
The new ticket prices are as follows:

– Before March 7th: 300 NT

– On the day of: 400 NT

Sorry for the inconvenience that this may bring, and thank you for your understanding.

The High School National English Honor Society is proud to announce that MAK’s literary magazine, Shark Review, is open for submissions! The theme for this year’s spring issue is “In Retrospect.” Pieces of poetry or prose are all accepted! Submissions from K-12 students and staff are all accepted. Send submissions to sharkreview@ma.org.tw by March 15, and contact them if you have further questions. This is an excellent chance for members of the MAK community to express their unique voices!
