All Shark Basketball teams were in action this week with games against conference teams, KAS and IIS. At time of publication the only game that had been completed was the JV boys team, who kicked off their season with a road trip to KAS. The Dragons proved to be a tough first opponent as the Sharks fell in defeat 69-26. However, Coach Upchurch saw many bright spots that this young team can build on. The team has limited JV experience, but competed well in their first game. There were a few offensive and defensive concepts the team showed improvement on as the game progressed. Freshman Javier Chen was an offensive threat for the Sharks and played well, while returning from last year’s JV team, sophomore Howard Lan & junior Louis Shih provided great leadership for this young team that will be beneficial to their development throughout the rest of the season.

The High School Basketball season kicks off with a full week of games following the holiday break, see the schedule below. Also you can keep up with all of the MAK HS competitions by visiting our MAK Athletics Page

It’s Tu Shu Award time! What is a Tu Shu Award? The Tu Shu award is a book contest that involves all Morrison campuses. The librarians from each campus choose picture and chapters books to nominate and then students at each campus read the books, then on a specific date, the students get to vote for their favorite. The elementary picture books are being revealed each week, but the Tu Shu nominations for upper elementary and middle school are now being displayed and ready for check-out in the library. Encourage your child to read these books so that they can vote for their favorite! Happy Reading!

All parents or students in grade 5+ are invited to join the MAK Cross Country team TODAY 12/3 for the annual 5KM Turkey Trot.  You may choose to run, walk, hop, or skip through the entire 5KM race.  Bonus points if you can keep up with the turkey 🙂
Every participant will get a race bib and official time sheet to commemorate this annual run.  We will meet at the MAK track at 3:30pm and run around the MAK community.  Click here for the map route.
If interested, please email Coach Chan at chanm@ma.org.tw before Wednesday 12/1.
